Advent calendars are a tradition, not an investment — and at $34.99, this one is priced right for what it is. The C grade comes from 252 pieces spread across 24 doors with zero minifigs, which is a tough pill for a City set.
Is the price fair?A+$34.99 for a daily reveal tradition — as fair as City gets.
Will you love it?FZero minifigs in a City set is a storytelling dealbreaker.
Holds its value?C-Advent calendars tank in January; this one won't be the exception.
The Full Take
City advent calendars live or die by their daily reveals, and 2026's edition cuts minifigs entirely — a strange call for a theme built on little people doing little jobs. Twenty-four micro builds and seasonal scenes can be charming, but without a single figure to anchor the story, the calendar starts to feel like a parts grab dressed in holiday wrapping. The $34.99 price is about as good as LEGO® City gets, so the barrier to entry is low. But love? That's harder to manufacture when the daily dopamine hit is a tiny lamppost or a snow shovel with no one to hold it. Resale on advent calendars is historically soft — they move at a discount once January hits, not a premium. Buy it for the countdown ritual, not the destination.
