The Full Take
City Advent calendars have a formula, and the 2024 edition doesn't break it — but it does execute it well enough to be worth the holiday shelf space. Seven minifigs spread across 24 doors gives each day enough variety to stay interesting for kids. The builds lean into classic City holiday chaos: emergency vehicles, little food stalls, seasonal accessories. At $32.99 it's not a steal, but it's in line with what the format historically costs. The shelf life is mostly December — don't expect this to live on a display year-round. What it does do is deliver a low-pressure, high-repetition gifting win that parents have come to rely on. It's a B- because the formula works, even if it never surprises you.
