The Full Take
The 2017 City Advent Calendar is one of those sets that does its job without calling attention to itself. Six minifigs spread across 24 doors feels right, and the vehicle builds hit the familiar City beats — police cars, a sleigh, a few festive accessories. Nothing in here will make a hardcore fan lose their mind, but a kid cracking one window a day through December won't complain either. The price at $29.99 was fair for what it was, though it's not the kind of calendar that generates 'you have to get this one' energy years later. Secondary market interest is mild at best, which puts it squarely in the 'buy it to use it' camp. A B- overall feels right: competent, seasonal, forgettable in the best possible way.
