Eight minifigs in one box is the kind of math that makes a $45 purchase feel like a no-brainer, at least on paper. The 2022 edition leans hard on characters over craft — most of the daily micro builds are forgettable little ships and props that exist to pad the calendar out to 329 pieces. But the minifig selection is solid enough to justify the ritual: you're buying the countdown, the daily reveal, the kids losing their minds over a tiny Darth Vader in a festive context. As a building experience it's shallow, as a shelf piece it's scattered, but as a December tradition it delivers exactly what it promises. The B+ hold grade is the quiet surprise here — Star Wars advent calendars have a track record of modest but real secondary market bumps once they retire, which gives this one a little more upside than the build quality would suggest.
