Eight minifigs spread across 25 doors sounds like a win until you see how many of those doors hide a micro TIE Fighter with four pieces. The C+ is fair — it's a seasonal tradition more than a set.
Is the price fair?B+Fair for a seasonal set with eight minifigs anchoring the lineup.
Will you love it?C+The minifig variants are charming; the micro builds are mostly forgettable filler.
Holds its value?A-Retired advent calendars quietly appreciate — this one is already proving it.

The Full Take
Advent calendars live and die by the ratio of 'oh nice' to 'oh, that's it?' moments, and this 2017 edition leans harder on the latter. The eight minifigs are the real draw — getting a festive Kylo Ren or an ugly-sweater BB-8 variant is legitimately fun. The micro builds fill the gaps but rarely feel inspired; a lot of them clock in at under ten pieces and look it. For a kid tearing open a door every morning in December, that might not matter — the ritual carries the experience. At $39.99 it sits at a fair price for what it is, not a deal you chase but not one you resent either. Where this thing surprises is on the secondary market — retired advent calendars hold value better than most seasonal sets, and this one is no exception. Buy it for the minifigs and the holiday vibe; just don't expect the builds to anchor anything.
