Eight minifigs in a Star Wars advent calendar sounds great until you open the doors and realize half the builds are tiny TIE Fighters made of four pieces. Decent holiday tradition, mediocre set.
Is the price fair?C+Forty bucks for a calendar full of micro-filler is a stretch, even with eight minifigs saving it.
Will you love it?C+Fun for a Star Wars kid in December; forgettable by January.
Holds its value?B+Retired advent calendars have a quiet resale floor — this one holds better than the build quality suggests.

The Full Take
The 2018 Star Wars Advent Calendar does what all advent calendars do — spread joy thin across 24 doors. Eight minifigs is a real bright spot, and Star Wars fans will find a few genuinely fun micro-builds tucked in. But the filler-to-payoff ratio is rough, with several doors delivering builds that feel like an afterthought. At $39.99 it's not a bargain, and it's not a rip-off — it's right at the edge of acceptable for what you get. The format limits the build experience by design, so don't come in expecting anything technically interesting. What it does well is sell the Christmas-morning feeling, door by door, for kids already deep in the Star Wars universe. A C+ is fair — it works for its moment and not much else.
