Based on 9 reviews · thin
The X-wing is one of the most-built LEGO® ships ever, and this version doesn't do much to separate itself from the pack — at $49.99 it's asking a lot for what you get.
Is the price fair?D+$49.99 for 474 pieces on a ship this iconic feels like LEGO® betting on nostalgia to do the heavy lifting.
Will you love it?C+Fine for what it is, but nothing about it will stick with you the way a great build should.
Holds its value?B-Modest appreciation likely — Star Wars never fully dies on the secondary market, but this isn't a must-own.

The Full Take
Luke's X-wing has been done so many times that every new version has to justify its existence, and this one struggles to make the case. The build is serviceable — foils open and close, R2-D2 is always a win — but 474 pieces at fifty bucks feels like LEGO® leaning on the IP rather than the engineering. Four minifigs sounds generous until you realize two of them are filler. Display-wise it reads as a shelf-filler next to the UCS versions that collectors actually covet. Kids will have fun with it, and that's not nothing, but adults buying this for themselves should probably save up or wait for a sale. A C+ is about right: not broken, just unremarkable in a category that's set a high bar.
