Star Wars X-wings occupy a special place in LEGO® history, and this 2018 iteration gets the silhouette right without doing anything remarkable with it. At $79.99 for 730 pieces, the price feels like a stretch — not a rip-off, but you notice it. The build itself is competent, hitting familiar SNOT and wing-locking techniques without pushing into memorable territory. Four minifigs round it out including Luke and R2, which is the crowd-pleasing part of the package. On the shelf it reads clearly as an X-wing, which counts for something in a theme where scale and accuracy matter. Where it stumbles is in the gap between what it costs and how much it wows — this is a B- set in a theme full of A-tier competition. The B on holds value is the quiet silver lining if you're patient.
