The Full Take
The sculpt on this thing is surprisingly faithful — LEGO® captured BB-8's spherical charm better than most expected, and the head detailing is the kind of thing you notice on a shelf from across the room. The build itself has some clever geometry tricks that keep it from feeling like a boring stack, even if it won't rewrite your technique playbook. Where this set falls apart is the price: $99.99 for 1106 pieces with one minifig was steep at launch, and nothing about the set justifies the premium over similarly sized busts. As a display piece it lands well enough, but it was always more of a 'want' purchase than a 'must-have.' The secondary market never rewarded patient holders the way other Star Wars sets did. Fun to build, nice to look at, genuinely hard to recommend at full retail — that's the honest summary.
