The Full Take
The Monster Truck is one of those sets that looks fine in the picture and feels lightweight the moment you hold the box. 55 pieces is barely a warm-up build, and at $9.99 MSRP, the math just doesn't shake out the way you'd hope for a City impulse buy. The truck itself has a chunky, cartoonish charm — big wheels, bright colors, one happy minifig — but there's no real substance to grab onto. It's the kind of set a kid tears through in twelve minutes and then it lives in the bottom of a bin. For a C- overall, this one gets by on vibes alone, and barely.
