The Heartlake City Grand Hotel is Friends doing architecture, and that's not a sentence you could've written five years ago. At 1411 pieces, the build has enough going on to hold your attention — multiple rooms, a lobby, real structural layers — and six minifigs gives the whole thing life. The price is where it wobbles: $149.99 is a lot to ask for a theme that still fights for shelf legitimacy outside its fanbase. But the set itself delivers on its premise better than most Friends sets at this scale. Display presence is solid, the play scenarios are genuinely varied, and the hotel format is one of those concepts that just works for this theme. It won't set the secondary market on fire, but it earns its B by doing what it sets out to do with more craft than you'd expect.
