No box art, no model, no shelf moment — what you do with these parts is entirely on you, and a great custom can absolutely earn a spot on the shelf, but the 'set' itself won't get you there.
Is the price fair?A+Store-exclusive custom parts at a price that makes you check your receipt twice.
Will you love it?A+If you love minifigs, this is basically a candy store with a parts counter.
Holds its value?C-Exclusive parts don't always translate to secondary market heat — buy this for the build, not the return.

The Full Take
Build-A-Minifigure stations are one of LEGO®'s best-kept secrets, and the 2023 exclusive parts collection is the purest expression of what makes them special. You're not building a set — you're building a person, an original character, something that exists nowhere in any catalog. The part selection skews toward unique prints and colorways that you simply cannot get anywhere else, which is the entire point. Forty-two pieces sounds modest until you realize each one was curated for maximum customization potential. For the price, this is an almost unfair deal — the exclusivity of the parts alone justifies the trip to the store. The A+ across price and love grades isn't a surprise; this is the kind of purchase people remember. The one caveat is resale, which is soft, but that's not the reason anyone buys this.
