The V-wing is one of the more underrated Clone Wars-era fighters, so it hurts that this set does it so little justice. Forty-five pieces barely gets you a recognizable silhouette, and there's no pilot to even pretend you're going somewhere. The price point isn't charitable enough to make this a no-brainer impulse buy, which is exactly what a set this small needs to be. On a shelf it reads more like a prototype than a finished model. Kids won't get much mileage out of it, builders won't find anything to chew on, and the D+ overall reflects how few boxes it actually checks. If you love the ship, track down a bigger treatment — this one is a placeholder at best.
