The Dark Knight of Gotham City
77903-1 · DC Comics Super Heroes

427 pieces and one minifig — the Dark Knight deserves better than this. The build length score is the lone bright spot in what is otherwise a thin, forgettable SDCC exclusive.
Is the price fair?DNo retail price to judge — this was an exclusive, and scarcity is doing all the heavy lifting.
Will you love it?D+One minifig and a build that checks out early — the love isn't really there.
Holds its value?C-C- on value retention: the exclusivity gives it a floor, but don't expect it to climb.
The Full Take
This is a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, which tells you almost everything you need to know about who it was made for and who actually got one. One minifig, 427 pieces, and a D+ overall score — the math never adds up in the buyer's favor. The build score of 6.7 is the set's only real argument for itself, suggesting the construction process is at least moderately engaging while it lasts. But the 'what you get' score of 4.4 is brutal and hard to ignore — when the box is closed and the build is done, there's not much left to show for it. Display collectors will find the shelf presence underwhelming, parents will find the play value thin, and builders will find it's over before it really starts. The SDCC provenance adds mystique but not substance. A curio for Batman completionists, a pass for nearly everyone else.
