Zero minifigs in a character-driven IP is a bold choice — Wednesday herself is conspicuously absent from her own school. The building is handsome, but a set without its star feels like a stage with no cast.

The Full Take
Nevermore Academy is the rare licensed set where the architecture does all the heavy lifting, because there are literally no minifigs to help. The gothic silhouette and moody detailing are clearly designed to sit on a shelf and look brooding, and at $69.99 for 890 pieces it's priced in a way that's hard to argue with. But here's the problem: Wednesday, Enid, Thing — nobody shows up. A building alone can work in Architecture or a modular, but in a character IP, the absence of the characters reads as incomplete rather than artistic restraint. Collectors who wanted a display centerpiece for their Wednesday fandom will keep reaching for something that should be there and isn't. The price is the one thing this set gets right, and that matters less when the product feels half-finished. Hard to love, hard to hold — but at least it won't hurt your wallet on the way in.
