The Full Take
The Hungarian Horntail is one of the most iconic creatures in all of Harry Potter, and LEGO® had a real chance here. Instead, what lands at $49.99 feels thin — 671 pieces that don't quite cohere into the menacing beast the source material demands. The single minifig (Viktor Krum) does little to justify the price, and the dragon itself reads more as a sketch than a centerpiece. There are some decent articulation choices, and Harry Potter fans will still get a pull from the theme alone. But compared to what LEGO® has done with dragons in other lines, this one leaves you wanting more dragon for your money. A C- overall is generous if you're not already deep in the Potter collection.
