The Full Take
The Chamber of Secrets set lands a solid B because it delivers where it counts: eleven minifigs including the Basilisk, Tom Riddle, and a proper Dumbledore, plus a modular Hogwarts section that clicks into other sets in the castle collection. The build itself is layered — you get the diary, the sinks, the pipe system, and enough little story beats to keep you engaged for a long weekend. That said, $149.99 for 1172 pieces is a stretch, and LEGO® leans on the Harry Potter license hard enough that the price feels less like fair value and more like a tax on nostalgia. Display-wise, the finished model has real shelf weight — the Chamber has atmosphere in a way generic castle builds don't. The Basilisk alone earns a spot on any Potter fan's shelf. It's not a flawless release, but as a piece of the broader Hogwarts modular puzzle, it's a meaningful one.
