The Full Take
Spider-Man's Mask is one of those sets that photograph beautifully and disappoint at checkout. The sculpt is clean, the red-and-black colorwork pops, and it'll hold its own on a display shelf next to the other helmet sets. But 487 pieces at $69.99 with no minifig and no interior detail is a pricing swing that doesn't connect. The build itself is competent — the curved SNOT work that shapes the mask is the technical highlight — but it's not a complex enough experience to justify the cost on merit alone. For a D+ overall, the gap between what it looks like in promo shots and what you're getting for the money is the whole story here. Die-hard Spidey fans will rationalize it; everyone else will feel the sting at the register.
