The Sandman villain build is the reason this set exists, and it's not bad — there's some clever part usage to sell the 'half-dissolved into sand' look that you don't usually see in a Marvel set at this tier. The problem is the price bracket: $37.99 for 347 pieces is a tough sell when comparable Marvel sets give you more scene and more story. Three minifigs sounds fine until you realize two of them are Spider-Man variants you've probably already got in a drawer somewhere. The sandy battle platform sets a decent scene but it's not a display piece — it's a play set that stops short of being a great one. If you're a Spider-Man completionist or your kid specifically wants Sandman, the B- love grade holds up. Everyone else should wait for a sale before pulling the trigger.
