Batman: The Animated Series deserves better than a C, and $300 is the reason it didn't get one. The Gotham skyline looks stunning on a shelf, but you're paying a premium that the set never quite justifies.
Is the price fair?D$300 for this much repetition is a hard sell, even with the IP doing the heavy lifting.
Will you love it?C+The shelf presence is real, but the build itself doesn't match the visual payoff.
Holds its value?C-Nostalgia IP helps, but not enough to make this a confident long-term hold.

The Full Take
Few LEGO® sets carry this much nostalgia weight — BTAS defined a generation's Batman, and this Gotham cityscape shows LEGO® understood the assignment aesthetically. The art-deco architecture, the muted color palette, the brooding verticality: it all tracks. Where it stumbles is the price tag. $300 for 4210 pieces and only four minifigs is a tough sell when the build itself doesn't deliver the kind of complexity or wow-moments that justify the premium tier. The minifig selection is solid but not deep enough to anchor the cost. Display collectors will find a lot to love on the shelf — it reads beautifully from across a room — but the build journey to get there is more repetitive than the set's ambitions suggest. A tighter price would have made this an easy recommendation; at $299.99, it's a considered one.
