Spider-Man and Sandman Showdown is exactly what it looks like: a clearance-rack polybag dressed up in a box. The build is a small sand fortress with a net launcher, which takes maybe twelve minutes to complete and leaves you wondering where the rest of the set went. At $9.99 this should feel like a fun grab, but the piece count makes it one of the priciest small sets Marvel has put out at this scale. Sandman himself is the genuine draw — a clean minifig with a distinctive look that's hard to find elsewhere. The Spider-Man fig is standard issue, nothing you haven't seen. If you're not chasing the Sandman specifically, there isn't much argument for picking this one up at retail.
