Detroit Steel is one of those villain mechs LEGO® could've skipped entirely but didn't, and the minifig lineup here is the headline. Three figures at this price point was rare for Marvel sets of this era, and Justin Hammer showing up in physical brick form is genuinely surprising. The mech itself is chunky and aggressive — not the most refined build, but it reads well on a shelf next to the Iron Man armor. The build experience is modest for experienced fans but totally appropriate for the target age. Where it stumbles is sheer parts density — 378 pieces doesn't leave a ton of building satisfaction for the price. Still, for a 2017 Marvel set, this one punches above its weight on character selection alone.
