Five minifigs in a 2014 Marvel set — Hulk, Thor, and M.O.D.O.K. in the same box — is the kind of lineup that makes you forgive a lot. The lab itself is serviceable; the roster is the real product here.
Is the price fair?D+Fifty dollars for the build you get here is a tough sell — the minifigs are carrying the ticket price.
Will you love it?B-M.O.D.O.K. alone bumps this above average; the lab is filler but the characters are fun.
Holds its value?CModest secondary market movement — Marvel nostalgia helps, but this isn't a standout appreciator.
The Full Take
M.O.D.O.K. as a minifig is genuinely weird and great, and that's the clearest argument for this set existing. The lab build is functional rather than inspired — breakaway walls and a vehicle feel more like checkboxes than design ambitions. But five named Marvel characters for fifty dollars in 2014 was a solid deal for the shelf, even if the price-to-build ratio stings a little in hindsight. Thor and Hulk are crowd-pleasers; M.O.D.O.K. is the one your kid's friends ask about. As a display piece it holds its own without commanding a shelf. As a build it's an afternoon, not a weekend. The B- fits — solid but unremarkable outside that minifig haul.
