The Whomping Willow nails something a lot of licensed sets fumble — it gives you a full moment, not just a building. Six minifigs at this price point is exceptional, and the flying Ford Anglia alone earns its place in any Harry Potter collection. The tree itself has a satisfying chunky presence on a shelf, even if the build to get there isn't the most technically adventurous 754 pieces you'll ever put together. It's more scene-setter than showpiece, which is exactly what Chamber of Secrets deserves. For a 2018 release, it has aged well — the character selection holds up and the footprint is just right for a mid-tier Harry Potter display.
