The Full Take
The buildable figures line always lived in an awkward middle zone — too big to play with like a minifig, too static to display like a proper statue — and Baze Malbus doesn't fully escape that tension. What he does have is genuine screen presence: the heavy repeating cannon, the armored bulk, the gruff Guardian-of-the-Whills energy all translate better than you'd expect at this scale. At $24.99 original retail, this was never a hard sell, and it's aged into a quiet overperformer on the secondary market. The build itself is competent but not exciting — it's a character study more than a technique showcase. Casual fans who passed on this one in 2017 are now paying more than double to fix that mistake. It's not the most thrilling LEGO® experience, but Baze rewards the patient buyer who grabbed it at retail.
