Hutt Palace Sentry Droid Showdown lands a B+ by doing the fundamentals right without doing anything that'll make your jaw drop. The minifig lineup is the headline: three characters for fifty bucks in the Star Wars line is legitimately unusual, and the palace setting has enough visual personality to hold its own on a shelf. The build itself is competent — not the kind of session you'll be telling people about, but not a slog either. At $49.99 it's one of the better-priced Star Wars sets of the year, which is saying something given how aggressively LEGO® has been pushing that line upmarket. Where it falls short is the ceiling: this isn't a set that's going to climb in value or dominate your display, it's a solid, fun, fairly priced slice of the Tatooine underworld.
