Darth Vader's TIE Fighter should be a marquee release. Instead, LEGO® handed us a D+ on price for a set that doesn't bring enough to the table to justify $69.99. The piece count is modest, the minifig selection is thin, and the build doesn't deliver the kind of wow moment the name implies. There's a C- on love, which means it might scratch the Star Wars itch in the moment but won't hold a permanent spot in your rotation. The B- on value retention is the one bright spot — Star Wars sets rarely crater completely — but that's not a reason to pay a premium at retail. This is a set that exists, and not much more.
