When LEGO® revisits an icon this recognizable, the bar sets itself. The 2024 R2-D2 hits a fair price point for 1050 pieces and looks the part on a shelf, but the build experience doesn't quite match the legend. Two minifigs is a fine bonus, though neither justifies a purchase on their own. The techniques are competent without being memorable — this is LEGO® playing it safe with a character who deserves a little more audacity.
