The Full Take
The Onyx Cinder has a genuinely menacing silhouette — dark, angular, the kind of ship that looks at home in a villain's hangar. At 1325 pieces it's a solid Saturday build, and the minifig selection gives it real display context. The problem is $139.99 for what you get; this is a mid-tier ship asking for flagship money. The build itself doesn't disappoint in the hands — there are enough structural moments to keep an experienced builder engaged — but it's not the kind of technique showcase that justifies the price on its own. Secondary market history on similar Star Wars vehicles suggests a modest hold, maybe a modest gain, which softens the sting a little. If you're a Star Wars collector who needs this ship on the shelf, you'll be satisfied. Everyone else should wait for a sale.
