The Full Take
The Republic Gunship is one of the most beloved vehicles in Star Wars lore, and LEGO® knew exactly what they had when they slapped a $399.99 sticker on it. At 3292 pieces it's a substantial build, but the finished model doesn't read as a $400 set on the shelf — it reads as a $250 set that got a little too confident. Two minifigs at this price is a choice that's hard to defend, and the overall shape, while recognizable, doesn't deliver the jaw-drop presence you'd expect from a UCS-tier investment. The build experience has its moments — there's real geometry to work through — but nothing here feels like a breakthrough. LEGO® leaned on the IP doing the heavy lifting, and for a lot of buyers, it does. For everyone else, the math just doesn't land.
