Black-on-black LEGO® builds are a specific kind of commitment, and this helmet asks a lot of your patience before it pays off. The shaping on the dome is legitimately impressive for 2020 — SNOT techniques and careful stud placement nail that angular Imperial menace at bust scale. At $59.99 it's one of the better-priced helmet sets LEGO® has released, which softens the sting of a build that doesn't have a ton of variety keeping you engaged along the way. No minifigs, no extras — just the helmet, which is fine if that's your thing but a real limitation if you were hoping for more. On a shelf beside other Helmet Collection pieces it holds its own; in a Star Wars display it punches above the TIE Fighter's usual supporting-character status. The aftermarket has treated it reasonably well, so if you're buying at MSRP you're in decent shape either way. A solid pickup for the right fan — just go in knowing exactly what you're getting.
