The appreciation story is real — this X-wing has quietly climbed since 2020 — but that $89.99 retail price was a rough ask for what you got on the shelf.
Is the price fair?D$89.99 for this build was a stretch — Star Wars premium doing a lot of heavy lifting.
Will you love it?C+Competent X-wing with a familiar face, but nothing in the build or the box will genuinely surprise you.

The Full Take
Poe Dameron's X-wing landed in 2020 at $89.99 and immediately felt like LEGO® betting you'd pay the Star Wars tax without blinking. The build is competent — 761 pieces, split wings, decent cockpit detail — but nothing in the construction process is going to stop you mid-build and make you think. The four minifigs are fine, though Poe himself is the only real draw. Where the set redeems itself over time is the secondary market: it's appreciated at a rate that outpaces a lot of its 2020 peers, which says more about X-wing demand than this specific version's greatness. Display-wise it reads as an X-wing on a shelf — recognizable, tidy, but not the definitive one. If you grabbed it at retail back then, you came out ahead; if you're shopping it now, the calculus flips.
