The Full Take
Slave I has always been one of the better Star Wars ship designs, and this 2019 version builds a satisfying, display-ready model with that distinctive saucer silhouette intact. The 20th Anniversary angle is where it gets interesting: five classic minifigs spanning the original trilogy, including Cloud City variants most fans don't already own. At $119.99 the price is genuinely steep for 1007 pieces, and some of that cost is clearly baked into the anniversary premium. The build itself is rewarding without being revelatory — solid intermediate techniques, good use of SNOT work on the hull, but nothing that'll blow a seasoned builder's mind. It sits well on a shelf, the cockpit detail reads from across the room, and the ship's iconic proportions come through cleanly. Whether it's worth the ask really comes down to how much you want those minifigs, because the ship alone doesn't fully justify the price tag.
