There's something undeniably striking about a Darth Vader helmet rendered in brick form — the silhouette is iconic, the black colorwork is clean, and it holds its own as a display piece. But the price LEGO® attached to this thing at launch was hard to swallow for what amounts to a static bust with no figures, no play, and a modest piece count. The build itself has some clever shaping techniques that bust collectors tend to appreciate, so the experience isn't hollow — it just ends fast. The problem is the secondary market never inflated the way you'd hope; too many units sat on shelves too long. For a diehard Star Wars fan who wants Vader on the bookcase, it scratches that itch.
