The Imperial TIE Fighter is one of those sets where the box looks better than the deal inside. At $69.99 for 519 pieces, you're paying a Star Wars tax on a ship LEGO® has built in more compelling forms before and since. The four minifigs — including Han Solo and an Imperial Pilot — are the brightest spot here, but they can't carry the whole package. The build itself is competent without being interesting: hexagonal wings, ball-and-socket cockpit, nothing that'll make you pause mid-build and appreciate a clever solution. Display presence is middling at best; it reads fine on a shelf but won't stop guests in their tracks. The D overall isn't harsh — it's just the math of a set that asks a lot and delivers average.
