General Grievous is one of the most visually striking characters in Star Wars, so it's a shame his 2018 speeder set feels like a missed opportunity on almost every front. The vehicle itself is a spindly little thing that doesn't command any shelf presence, and the build wraps up fast without leaving much of an impression. Thirty dollars for 157 pieces was hard to justify at launch when comparably priced sets were doing so much more. The Grievous minifig is the clear highlight — four arms, two lightsabers, and he looks sharp — but one good fig can't carry a set this thin. The combat speeder itself feels undersized and toy-like rather than model-like. A D+ overall isn't a verdict on the character, it's a verdict on what LEGO® chose to do with him here.
