The Full Take
Darth Vader should be an easy win. The character is LEGO®'s most recognizable villain, and the 2015 buildable figure line had real ambition behind it. But ambition and execution aren't the same thing — the finished model sits awkward on a shelf, somewhere between action figure and display piece without fully committing to either. The build itself is fine, a decent afternoon project, but 160 pieces at $29.99 stings when the result doesn't fill a shelf with authority. That 9.0 appreciation score means patient holders have been rewarded, which is the one genuine bright spot in an otherwise lukewarm package. For die-hard Vader collectors it scratches an itch, but casual buyers are better served by other entries in the Star Wars catalog.
