The Ultra Dragon Battle has numbers that look right on paper: 2178 pieces at $199.99 is a reasonable ask for a flagship Ninjago set. But a fair price can't rescue a build that feels like it's going through the motions. The dragon itself has presence, sure, but the techniques are straightforward and the overall composition lacks the wow factor you'd hope for at this tier. Four minifigs for a $200 set is thin, and the ones included don't add much heat. Ninjago loyalists will buy it regardless — the theme has that pull — but this isn't the set that makes converts.
