The Full Take
Kai and Cole together should feel like an event, and instead this set feels like a Tuesday. The combiner mechanic is the headline, but it's been done cleaner in this theme before, and 394 pieces doesn't leave much room for the build to breathe. Three minifigs at this price is a fair shake, and the Ninjago faithful will find enough here to enjoy an afternoon. Display collectors are going to look elsewhere — there's no iconic silhouette to anchor a shelf. The C overall is earned: not broken, not exciting, just middle-of-the-road Ninjago product doing what it says on the box.
