Jay's car doesn't just drive — it splits, transforms, and somehow packs five minifigs into a $54.99 set without feeling crowded. Ninjago's still doing things other themes won't try.
The parts alone are worth about 227% of the street price — the basis for this A- price read.
BargainThe parts alone are worth more than you pay — $90 of parts for $40.
The transformation gimmick here isn't just a marketing bullet point — it's the whole reason to pick this up. Five minifigs for a mid-sized set is a real win, and Ninjago's vehicle design language has gotten sharp enough that this thing actually looks cohesive in both modes. At $54.99 it's priced where it needs to be: not a steal, not a shakedown, just a fair deal on a fun build. The piece count sits right for the price tier and the build itself moves through a few different techniques before the gimmick pays off. It's not a showpiece, but it was never trying to be — this is Ninjago doing what Ninjago does best. A solid B is about right.
