The mech dragon design here is legitimately menacing in a way that a lot of Ninjago builds haven't been lately — Rogue's ride has presence. Four minifigs for a set this size is a generous haul, and the lineup gives younger fans real characters to care about. The build clocks in at 584 pieces, which is solid for the scale, though the techniques don't push any boundaries for experienced builders. Where it stumbles is simple: $74.99 is a tough ask when comparable Ninjago sets deliver more drama per dollar. The D on price is the loudest note here, and it's hard to unhear. That said, if you're already in the Ninjago ecosystem and want a villain centerpiece, the set delivers where it counts — just not in your wallet.
