The Full Take
The Source Dragon of Motion is one of those sets where the finished model does most of the talking — six minifigs, sweeping wing spans, and a dragon silhouette that commands shelf space. But $150 is a serious ask for 1717 pieces in a theme that rarely justifies premium pricing, and the build experience won't surprise seasoned builders the way the sticker shock will. Ninjago dragons have a proven track record of moving product, which keeps this from being a total write-off, but the resale ceiling here sits comfortably at 'modest at best.' Kids who are deep in the Ninjago universe will love it; everyone else should wait for a sale. The dragon design is legitimately striking — the Motion theme's elemental aesthetic translates well in 3D — but the value equation needs discounting to feel right.
