Kai's Source Dragon Battle hits a wall on price — 120 pieces at $38 is a tough sell when you stack it against what else is on the shelf. But then you look at that dragon and the four minifigs crammed into the package and the calculus gets complicated. The love grade is an A for a reason: Ninjago fans don't buy these sets with a ruler, they buy them because the dragon looks like it could breathe fire on a Tuesday. The build itself is compact and fast, which makes it a great Saturday afternoon set for a kid who can't wait. Resale is middling — C- territory means you're not losing money, but you're not cashing out either. The price is the real villain here; LEGO® left no wiggle room for the adults doing the math at checkout. Buy it for the kid, not the portfolio.
