For a $9.99 set, the minifig count is doing the heavy lifting here, and it mostly works. Jay's mech is small but punchy — the kind of quick build that doesn't drag, with just enough play functionality to feel intentional rather than filler. Four characters in a budget pack is rare enough to notice, and Ninjago collectors building out their display rosters will feel the value there. The build itself won't challenge anyone past age seven, but that's the target and it lands it. At a B overall, this is a set that knows what it is: an accessible, fun entry point rather than a showpiece. Don't come expecting display drama or a builder's puzzle — come expecting a solid rainy-afternoon set that delivers exactly its promise.
