Nya's Water Dragon EVO

Early read · 3 reviews
Nya finally gets her own dragon, and it's a solid little EVO set — not a showstopper, but the water theme works and $20 buys a fun afternoon. The C on price stings a little for 184 pieces, but the B overall says the set pulls its weight where it counts.
Is the price fair?BSits right at the edge of fair — you're not getting a deal, but you're not getting robbed either.
Will you love it?BNya fans and dragon collectors will find enough here to make it worth the shelf space.
Holds its value?C-Ninjago small sets rarely spike after retirement — don't count on this one breaking the pattern.

The Full Take
Nya's Water Dragon EVO does one thing right: it puts a great character front and center with a creature that actually looks the part. The EVO gimmick — snap-on armor pieces that 'evolve' the dragon — gives kids a reason to rebuild, which is smarter play design than it gets credit for. At $20 it's not a bargain, but it's not a gouge either; the price just sits in that unremarkable middle zone where you don't feel great about it but you don't feel burned. Three minifigs for a small set is a decent haul, and Nya herself is the draw here. The build is straightforward — no jaw-dropping technique — but the finished dragon has enough personality to matter. For a Ninjago fan, this one lands. For everyone else, it's a fine set that doesn't transcend its theme.
