The Full Take
Ninjago mech sets live or die by how satisfying they look in motion, and this one is a mixed bag. Lloyd's mech has some personality, but Arin's feels like it got the leftover parts. Five minifigs is a solid haul, and kids who are deep in the Dragons Rising era will recognize the characters — that counts for something. The build itself moves quickly, which isn't always a compliment; experienced builders will be done and slightly underwhelmed in an afternoon. At $79.99 for 764 pieces the pricing is genuinely hard to defend when comparable mech sets deliver more visual payoff. It's a B- set in the truest sense: not bad, just not enough to make you excited you bought it.
