Based on 20 reviews · thin
The Dragon Hunter Hound looks meaner than its price tag lets on — a compact, poseable beast with three minifigs that punches above its entry-level weight. The C- on price is the only real sting here.
Is the price fair?B-Feels about five dollars too expensive for what's in the box.
Will you love it?BA poseable creature villain with three minifigs — easy to like, hard to love unconditionally.
Holds its value?C-Ninjago side-sets rarely move the needle on resale; this one is no exception.

The Full Take
For a sub-$20 Ninjago set, the Hound has more visual bite than you'd expect — a snarling mech-creature with poseable limbs and a silhouette that actually reads as threatening. Three minifigs at this tier is a genuine win, and the Imperium villains fill a specific gap in any Ninjago collection. The build itself is straightforward but the parts work together well enough that it doesn't feel like a checkbox exercise. Where it stumbles is the price: $19.99 for 198 pieces sits on the wrong side of fair, and that's hard to ignore when comparable sets do more for less. Still, if you're in the Ninjago universe, the Hound is a satisfying little side-quest — just go in clear-eyed about what you're paying for the piece count.
