The Ninja Ultra Combo Mech is one of those sets where the math just works out. Seven minifigs for under ninety dollars is rare in 2022, and the mech itself has the kind of chunky, imposing presence that Ninjago does better than almost any other theme. Over 1100 pieces means the build has some substance to it — this isn't a weekend afternoon, it's a weekend. The combining gimmick adds play value that kids will actually use, and the minifig lineup gives parents something to point to when the price comes up. The one honest caveat: don't buy this thinking it'll sit in a box and grow — appreciation has been weak, and that's unlikely to change. But as a set to crack open and enjoy, the A- is deserved.
