Jay's Thunder Dragon EVO lands in that tricky middle zone: the minifig count punches above its weight for a $20 Ninjago set, and kids who are into the theme will eat it up. The dragon itself has decent shelf presence for a small set, with the EVO gimmick giving it a before-and-after play hook. But the build is thin — 140 pieces goes fast, and there's not much here to linger over. The $20 ask is a little steep for what you're getting, especially when better Ninjago sets sit nearby on the same shelf. Resale is essentially flat, so this one lives or dies on whether you just love Jay. It's a B- for a reason: not bad, not memorable.
