The Sub Speeder sits in that awkward Ninjago middle tier — not the centerpiece of the wave, not the impulse buy either. Four minifigs is a genuine bright spot, and the submarine aesthetic translates well enough to the brick that it reads as a cohesive vehicle rather than a jumbled parts pack. The build itself is competent without being inspired; there are a few satisfying structural moments but nothing that'll make you stop and photograph a half-built stage. At $39.99, the price was the real albatross — this is a set where the sticker works against it from the moment you pick it up at retail.
